OP Bivalvia Veneto is now a partner of a new European project called PRIZEFISH "Piloting of eco-innovative fisheries supply – chains to market added – value Adriatic fish products"
PRIZEFISH is a European cross-border cooperation project, co-funded by the INTERREG Italy - Croatia 2014-2020 Program.
The INTERREG program generally focuses on four priority concepts:
- Blue Innovation
- Security and Resilience
- Environmental and cultural heritage
- Maritime transport
PRIZEFISH is a project aimed at developing the priority axis "Blue Innovation" and the total budget of the project is 3.117.680,00 EUR, of which 85% is co-financed by the ERDF (2,650,028.00 EUR). It is coordinated by the University of Bologna and involves other 13 Italian and Croatian, public and private partners.
Op Bivalvia total budget for the project is 243.940,00 EUR. The 85% (207.349,00 EUR) is co-financed by the ERDF and the remaining 15% (36.591,00 EUR) is the result of National co-financing.
The general objective of the project is to increase the competitiveness of the Adriatic, Italian and Croatian producers' organizations, dedicated to the marketing of fish food products both in domestic and foreign markets. This purpose will be achieved by promoting and labelling the PRIZEFISH product, which will be synonymous of economic, social and environmental sustainability. PRIZEFISH products will be able to satisfy consumers and markets that are more sensitive to ecological products.
OP Bivalvia Veneto will contribute to the development of specific guidelines to be followed to increase its distribution chain. This is possible thanks to the experience gained by OP Bivalvia as the first fishery certified MSC in Italy.
